Other
A three-part workshop series for those who didn’t belong.
Learn practices and principles that help outcasts heal and transform the way a history of not belonging can become internalized as shame and limit a person’s life and relationships well into adulthood.
Early bird special available until Tuesday November 12th.
About This Workshop Series
This series delves into the often unacknowledged or misunderstood experience of struggling to belong within one’s own family, community and more. From childhood dynamics to adult relationships, the impact of being othered within your family of origin can extend far beyond the family unit, influencing self-perception, interpersonal connections, and major parts of your worldview.
Through reflective practices and group discussion, you will receive a powerful dose of validation for your experience, learn the common patterns and beliefs that keep outsiders stuck, and leave with a strengthened sense of community and hope knowing you are not alone and you can step away from the labels or criticisms that may have been directed at you.
Dates & Times
Three workshops happening on Wednesdays from 5pm to 6:30pm EST (timezone converter here). Dates are December 4th, 11th and 18th.
Workshop #1
This class sets the stage for this journey by describing the ways that being other can shape your identity in ways that limit your life. When you can see these themes clearly, you have the first step needed to begin rewriting the script you were handed. This class is about validating your experience, celebrating your resilience, and introducing a roadmap for change.
Workshop #2
This class discusses why families have insiders and outsiders at all. From black sheep to golden children, from saviors to scapegoats, family roles develop for a number of reasons that may not be as personal as you once believed. Understanding why is key to letting go of self-blame. Practices are presented to inspire shedding the labels you may have been given and are still carrying.
Workshop #3
In this class, Nick describes what it looks like to go beyond the confines of familial roles and labels and why it’s so important. Having laid the groundwork in previous sessions, this class focuses on practices that you can lean on to continually reclaim your narrative and develop a sense of belonging within yourself that reshapes your life.
What You Receive With Your Enrollment
By signing up, participants receive two things: lifetime access to the recordings of the workshops. And, an advanced invitation to a brand new online community for family outsiders who want to continue the work with others who know this experience first hand (delivered at the end of the series).
Until November 12th, you’ll receive a discounted price of $75. This program is normally $97.
